Luton Town midfielder Jordan Clark says the Championship club are lucky to have ex-Nigeria international Victor Moses in their ranks, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Moses is a versatile player with a lot of qualities, and Clark, who was full of praise for the Nigerian, hoping his genuine and undoubted Premier League quality rubs off on the rest of the Hatters squad during his time at Kenilworth Road.
“He’s quality; you can see he’s got that Premier League quality,” the midfielder told Luton Today.
“He’s had such a good career, so we’re lucky to have him. He’s getting fitter and fitter and fitter; he’s come on and looked a real threat. He took his goal (vs. Plymouth) really well; that’s the bit of quality we need and are probably missing a little bit. So hopefully we can see more of that; hopefully, it rubs off on everyone else, gives us a lift, and we’re looking forward to the next games now and can hopefully get some wins.”
Clark wasn’t the only one full of praise for the Nigerian superstar, as the club’s coach, Rob Edwards, also weighed in with his thoughts of the ex-Inter Milan man.
“If we have him on the ball higher, the idea is you play in that shape; you try and get him high on that last line anyway as much as possible. Clearly, he’s more effective when he’s high up, attacking, and that’s where he’s most happy as well, so that’s always the plan. Whether we play him as a winger or as a wingback, no doubt about it, that’s where he’s at his best,” the gaffer added.
Moses, 33, returned to England as a free agent in the summer following the expiration of his contract with Spartak Moscow.
Before moving to Russia in 2021, Moses had a successful stint with Chelsea. During his time at Stamford Bridge, he won the Premier League and FA Cup in successive years- 2017 and 2018.
He was part of the squad that won the Europa League in 2012/13, but spent much of his nine years as a Chelsea player out on loan at Liverpool, Inter Milan, West Ham, Stoke City, and Fenerbahce.
The former Wigan Athletic and Crystal Palace player has wasted no time in making his presence felt in the English second tier, opening his goal account with a stunning goal against Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle.
